Motherhood Burnout & Mental Load Therapy

in Pasadena & Sierra Madre & online throughout Califormia

For the mom who is doing everything while quietly running on empty.

Offering compassionate therapy for mothers carrying the invisible weight of family life. It's time to make space for the one who has been holding everyone else together.

You may be the one who remembers the appointments, notices when something is running low, anticipates what everyone will need, and keeps the family moving forward.

You are often the one thinking three steps ahead. Planning, organizing, checking in, smoothing things over, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Even when others are helping, you may still be the one carrying the bigger picture in your head.

From the outside, you may seem capable and organized.

Inside, you may feel exhausted, overstimulated, resentful, or one small request away from shutting down.

The mental load of motherhood is often invisible, but carrying so much for so long can leave you feeling depleted, disconnected, and like there is never enough space to truly rest.

You are not failing at motherhood. You may simply be carrying too much for too long.

This can be a place where you finally exhale.

What are the signs of motherhood burnout?

The mental load of motherhood is the invisible work of keeping family life running—the planning, remembering, anticipating, organizing, and emotional monitoring that often happens in the background.

Over time, carrying that level of responsibility can leave you feeling depleted, overstimulated, resentful, or disconnected from yourself. Burnout does not always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like continuing to function while feeling like there is very little left of you underneath it all.

You may notice…

✓ Feeling emotionally or physically exhausted most of the time

✓ Becoming easily irritated, overstimulated, or touched out

✓ Feeling resentful that so much responsibility falls on you

✓ Struggling to relax because there is always something else to do

✓ Feeling invisible, unappreciated, or taken for granted

✓ Carrying the emotional needs of your children, partner, or family

✓ Feeling guilty when you ask for help or take time for yourself

✓ Having difficulty concentrating, making decisions, or remembering things

✓ Feeling disconnected from your partner, children, or yourself

✓ Wondering why motherhood feels harder than it seems to for everyone else

These experiences do not mean you are a bad mother. They may be signs that your emotional, mental, and physical resources have been stretched too far for too long.
